What is Workout Time?
Workout Time is a progressive web application designed to help you create, plan, and play workouts. You can customize your training routines, use dynamic timers, and share workouts with friends.
Is the app free to use?
Yes! The core features of Workout Time are completely free, and the free version contains no ads. You can create up to 20 custom workouts and use up to 100MB of cloud storage.
Do I need fitness equipment to use the app?
No, Workout Time is suitable for all types of workouts. You can create bodyweight routines, stretching sessions, yoga, or equipment-based strength training.
Account & Sync
Does the app have a database?
Yes, the app works with a google firebase data store. All workouts, exercises, settings and calendar are saved online. This allows you to access your data from any device from any location after logging in.
Do I need an account to use the app?
Playing public workouts from the gallery does not require registration. However, you must log in to create and save your own workouts, utilize the calendar, or share workouts.
Can I use the app on multiple devices?
Yes, because your account data is stored securely in the cloud, you can log in and access your training plan and custom workouts on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or even smart TV.

Can I use the App in my favorite Web Browser?
Yes typing the following link in your browser workout-time.app/start will open the app.?
Is their a native App in the Apple or Google App Store?
No, currently we only offer a Progressive Web App (PWA) that can be installed via the browser. But a native app is under development.
Can I install the App on my device?
Yes, installing the is easy. On most mobile browsers, you can use the 'Add to Home Screen' option in the browser menu to install it just like a native app.
How do I install the on my iPhone or iPad?
Open Safari and navigate to workout-time.app/start. Tap the 'Share' button at the bottom of the screen, then select 'Add to Home Screen'. Confirm by tapping 'Add' in the top right corner. A App icon will appear on your home screen. After installation, you need to login again.
How do I install the on my Android device?
Open your preferred browser and navigate to workout-time.app/start. Tap the menu button (three dots) in the top right corner, then select 'Add to Home Screen'. Confirm by tapping 'Add'. An app icon will appear on your home screen. After installation, you need to login again.
How do I install the on my Mac?
Open Safari and navigate to workout-time.app/start. Click the 'Share' button in the toolbar, and select 'Add to Dock'. Confirm by clicking 'Add'. An app icon will appear in your Dock. After installation, you need to login again.
How do I install the app on my Windows PC?
Open your preferred browser and navigate to workout-time.app/start. Click the menu button (three dots) in the top right corner, then select 'Install workout-time.app'. Confirm by clicking 'Install'. An app icon will appear on your desktop or start menu. After installation, you need to login again.
Creating Workouts
How do I create a workout?
You must be logged in to create workouts. Go to 'My Workouts' and click the 'Create' button. You can then add exercises, set durations, and even upload images or videos.
Can I add custom exercises with my own descriptions?
Yes! When editing a workout, you can add custom exercises, write instructions, set target durations or repetitions, and attach custom images, videos, and music.
Can I organize workouts by category or sport?
Yes, you can assign categories (like strength, cardio, stretching, recovery) and sports tags to your workouts to organize them and make them easier to find.
Playing Workouts & Timers
How do I play a workout?
Navigate to the 'Public Workouts' gallery, find a workout you like, and simply press the 'Play' button. The player will guide you through every step.
Will my screen lock or turn off during a workout?
No, the workout player automatically requests a wake lock in compatible browsers to keep your screen active during training, so you can easily follow the exercises without interruption.
Are there sound or voice cues?
Yes, the player includes audio signals and countdown cues to notify you of exercise transitions, rest periods, and completed sets without needing to look at the screen.
Offline Mode
What happens if i am offline?
The app is designed to work primarily online to ensure that your data is always up-to-date and synchronized across devices. However, if you install the app you get the option to download workouts. After downloading workouts they can be played offline! To get the full functionality, please use the app while connected to the internet.
How do I download a workout for offline use?
Once installed as a PWA, open the app while online, find your workout, and tap the 'Download' icon. The workout's structure, timer, and images will be saved locally so you can play it anywhere without internet.
Does my training log sync when I go back online?
Yes, if you complete a scheduled workout offline, the app stores the log locally and automatically synchronizes it with your cloud database once a stable internet connection is restored.
Calendar & Training History
How do I use the workout calendar?
In the 'Calendar' section, you can schedule workouts for specific days. This helps you plan your training week and stay consistent. You can also set reminders.
Where can I see my past completed workouts?
You can view your training history, performance statistics, and completed exercises in the 'History' tab of your profile once logged in.
Can I schedule recurring workouts?
Yes, the calendar allows you to schedule single workouts or set up recurring weekly routines to build consistent training habits.
Sharing & Gallery
How do I share a workout?
When viewing one of your own workouts, you will see a 'Share' button. You can generate a unique link to send to your friends or share it directly on social media.
How can I publish my workout to the public gallery?
In your workout details, toggle the settings to 'Public' and select a category. Once saved, it will appear in the 'Public Workouts' gallery for the community to browse and play.
Can I save copies of public workouts?
Yes, you can add any public workout to your favorites, or make a copy of it in your own library to customize the exercises and durations to your needs.
Media & Music Integration
Can I play music or connect Spotify/Apple Music?
Yes! Workout Time supports embedding playlists from platforms like Spotify and Apple Music via iFrame. You can link your favorite training playlist to load automatically during your workouts.
Can I add video links to exercises?
Yes, you can embed video links (such as YouTube videos) to display exercise demonstrations directly in the player window while you train.
Can I use local audio files?
To maintain fast page performance and offline functionality, we recommend embedding streaming platform playlists or using short web-compatible audio URLs.
Storage & Limits
What are the limits on the free account?
Free accounts can create and save up to 20 personal workouts and store up to 100MB of custom media assets (like exercise pictures or track music) in their cloud storage.
How do I manage my 100MB storage limit?
You can check your storage usage in your account settings. To free up space, delete unused workouts or optimize exercise images before uploading them.
Can I upgrade my storage limit?
Yes, we plan to offer paid storage upgrade tiers. Please check the pricing settings page in the app menu for available options to support the project.
